Facts about Lexi

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Black (All)
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: A30324112
  • Hair: Short
Four-year-old Lexi may look like your average black cat but she knows she’s something special with her subtle striping and smoky undercoat. She was surrendered with her adult kittens to the shelter because her previous family could not afford to keep them, came down with a kitty cold soon after her arrival, and has been living with a foster family ever since. A bit of a diva, Ms. Lexi would prefer to be your only pet or to have a living space separate from other animals. She knows what she wants, so her new person has to pay attention to her signals, but she is very communicative. She greets her foster at the door in the morning and evening and shows her affection by rubbing, purring, and asking for attention, and enjoys curling up next to someone for a nap. Lexi plays like a young kitten and amuses herself for hours with strings and mice. If you are looking for a smart, independent, and amusing cat, think about Lexi! She’s hoping to find an understanding family who will enjoy her quirkiness and whom she can shower with her unique brand of love. To learn more about Lexi, contact her foster family at

About Our Shelter...

Mission Statement: The Animal Rescue League’s mission is to provide temporary shelter, food, medical attention, and comfort to all abandoned, neglected and injured animals brought to us by the community; to restore lost animals to their owners or seek new homes for them, and to educate the public about the humane care of animals with a goal of reducing overpopulation.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Most of our adoptable animals are available daily at out shelter. We also occasionally have events off-site. Check out website for more information.

Our Adoption Process...

Requirement for adoption include:
1. Having all members of the household meet the animal
2. Dog meet-and-greets at the shelter if there is another canine in the home
3. Proof that dogs are allowed in the home including a lease and/or addendum if renting or proof of ownership if the home is owned (ownership can also be checked using the county assessment site if available).
