Baby's Story...
"Hello, friends. My name is BABY, and I'm an eight-year-old female Shih Tzu who came to the El Cajon Animal Shelter because my owner had to move to a new home where pets are not allowed. I'm a gentle love-bug with a heart of gold, and I'm almost totally blind. I can see light and shadows, but that's about it. Once I get the lay of my new home, I'll get around fine. You'd need to make a few accommodations for me, though, like gates at the top and bottom of a staircase. Being small and blind, I'd need to be in an adult-only home without any other dogs in order to minimize the chance that somebody could hurt me. I don't appear to have a mean bone in my body, but I wouldn't be able to get out of the way if a kid or a dog was quickly headed my way. If you're looking for a nice little dog who'll be happy just to sit in your lap, then I'm your gal. We'd surely make each other feel better. Oh, and you'll be happy to know that I've already been house trained. Won't you please come visit me? I miss human companionship, and I'm ready to start a new chapter of my life. Also, as a Super-Senior, MY ADOPTION FEE IS ONLY $30. I hope to see you soon. Love, Baby"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baby, a El Cajon Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
