My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hanani (known as "Han" to his friends) is a very special dog.  He's about 6 years old.

His eyes tell you he's an old soul who's been through a lot.  He arrived to us looking like a walking skeleton, from severe starvation.  His skin was badly infected and nearly hairless, and he was very sick.  Thanks to many friends on the Internet who saw his shelter pictures and advocated for this amazing dog, he found his way to our rescue, where a loving foster family mended his body and spirit.  He received excellent vet care, and now his skin is healed now and his fur is regrowing.  He's put on much-needed weight (though he still needs to gain some more).

Han is has been an easy, gentle dog in his foster home.  He gets along well with other dogs, peacefully co-existing.  He also gets along well with cats.   He's not a high-energy dog--he's the perfect age for someone looking for a mellow companion.   He's content to follow his foster-parents around the house, watching them lovingly.   He appreciates an nice walk.  Most of all, he cherishes being near his people.

Han is affectionate and very eager to please.  He is already crate-trained and house-trained.

He deserves a forever-family that will adore him and appreciate the wise, calm friendship he has to offer.   We've promised him that his best years are yet to come.

A completed adoption application, with vet and personal references, and a home check are required to apply to adopt. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption applicationhttp://www.RedStickGermanShepherds.org.  Applications are approved solely in the discretion of the RSGSR board of directors.
