My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bella is a sweet Bichon Frise mix that is approximately 8 years old. She needs to be in a home with a doggy door. She loves to go on walks and be outdoors. She sleeps through the night on the bed or on the floor with pillows, but she is also crate trained if you want her to sleep in a crate. Bella loves to be scratched, rubbed, petted and gives generous kisses once she knows you. Bella likes to give "head hugs" she rubs against you with her head and rubs all around. Bella must be on a grain free diet for skin allergies.

Bella has a controlled case of hepatitis and will likely live a normal lifespan with <$20 of monthly supplements and bi-annual blood tests. She takes a supplement, Milk Thistle, for her enlarged liver which helps to control her liver disease (hepatitis). This also means she needs special dog food. She is currently eating a grain free, low protein homemade diet approved by her vet but could easily exist on a product like Hills L/D sold in vet offices. The key is low protein low fat.

Speaking of eating, she loves her food! She especially likes fresh fruit like blueberries and strawberries, and always get green beans as an extra treat between meals.

She has a beautiful smile and can sometimes be seen with the tip of her tongue out of her mouth when she is really relaxed. Bella gets along great with the other Bichons in the home but she really is a lap hog and would love to be your one and only. She gets super excited when you get home, and greets you with exuberance! She has even been seen bouncing straight up in the air like Tigger (from Winnie the Pooh)! She doesn't play with toys, but she will play with you and your hands and circle in and out between your legs, this is when her puppiness really shows. We think she just needs to be given the right toy, we have yet to find what that is. Bella needs another dog in the home or someone home most of the time. Children in the home need to be at least 10 years old. She’s located in N. CA
