We are thrilled to have the beautiful BROWNIE in the Rescue Ridge family and we asked her fabulous foster mom to tell us a bit about her. She said that it is tough to put into words how awesome she is but we think she did a great job !
"Brownie is an all around awesome dog. For starters she is fully potty trained and hardly barks. She is an eight year old, medium-sized mixed breed pup. She is the perfect dog to either nap the day away with or go on a long walk around town. Although she may have a white face she is still very spunky and active. She would be the perfect dog for someone who would like a dog that requires much less work than a puppy would. No accidents, crying, or home-destroying. We have a two year old boxer that she gets along great with! She is patient with her and excellent at sharing. She is crated when we are not home and walks right in willingly. She is also a great snuggler and a well adjusted, loving girl."
We think Brownie sounds like a perfect addition to any home (one without cats, though). So don't make haste, send an email to or fill out an application at to schedule a meet with Brownie. Check out Brownie's video:

About Rescue Ridge

About Our Rescue Group...

Rescue Ridge is a 'last-chance' rescue. Staffed 100% through the efforts and donations of volunteers, we find homes for animals that other shelters and people have given up on. Through the kindness of various boarding kennels and foster families, rescued animals are cared for until they find that final family to love them.

Rescue Ridge began by rescuing healthy, beautiful, animals that were slated to be euthanized through no fault of their own. We felt it was unfair, that because their 'humans' had no more use for them, their days were numbered. We have tried to give each and every one of these companions a new lease on life. We rescued dogs, cats, horses and any other animal that we were able to help with our limited resources. And since we have limited space, we are always searching for those willing to help foster these wonderful creatures. We are always happy to provide information on options available to anyone needing to re-home their pet for whatever reason. It is our belief that education regarding pet ownership and its responsibilities is the best hope these companions have. You will have unending rewards when you give a second chance to one of these wonderful friends. They truly are the champions of giving unconditional love.

Volunteer dog walkers needed to walk our dogs. We also need volunteers to socialize our dogs. Must love dogs. Training will be provided. Our facility is located in Freehold, NJ. If you have a few hours a month to volunteer, please contact us at

Our Adoption Process...

Just contact us at, or call us at 732-681-3450, and we will be happy to provide you with an adoption application and, upon review of personal reference checks, vet checks, and possibly home visits, you may be chosen as a permanent home for that special companion. Please note that filling out an application does NOT automatically approve anyone for a specific adoption. We want to assure that the companion and adoptive family are each going to benefit from the adoption, and that it is as permanent an adoption as possible. We ask for help through donations to help cover the costs associated with keeping the companions up-to-date on vaccinations and spay/neuter programs. We request a donation of $100 for cats, and $200 - $400 for dogs, depending on the specific rescue. We are a tax-exempt organization so that any donation you make to Rescue Ridge is tax deductible, and all costs go directly to all of the animals we rescue.
