My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a handsome beagle boy that has spent most of his life with 2 other beagles in an outside enclosure. Midwest BREW saved me and I am now learning to live indoors with cats, other dogs, and something new to me; a foster mom that loves me. I am still a little rough around the edges but I have come a long way from when I started. My foster mom is so proud of me and congratulates me everyday with how well I am doing with outside potty and walking on a leash. She said that I am a work in progress and will need a family willing to understand and work with me. And she knows for sure that I am worth it as I am an absolutely beautiful and loving beagle that will be a wonderful family member.

I am tall and gorgeous as you can tell by my pictures. They think that I am around 5 years old. I am confident and very intelligent. I have very expressive eyes that melt my foster mom's heart. I like to be where she is and I get a very sad when she leaves and I get very anxious in my crate when my foster mom goes to work so I am looking for a home where someone is home all day. The crate reminds me too much of my former life and I really need to work on this but if you are home most of the day and I can be around you I am OK. I do well with this but if I need to be left alone a lot I would need to be in a home where there is another dog. The other dog would preferably be more submissive and a female. I get very scared when I am completely by myself.

As I said I have some things from my former life to work on. I like to be the dominant one as I most likely had to compete with my cagemates for limited resources and I do have some scars to prove it. I also have a tendency to counter surf. I like to be the dominant one but I do get along with most dogs and cats. But I may not do well with other dogs who like to be the dominant ones in the pack. I live with some small dogs and other beagles that I will run and play with. I also am learning to ride in a car. Since this is all new to me I get nervous in the car but as I travel more I am doing a little better and can now ride for short distances but I definitely need to work on this.

I am looking for my forever home that would love me and understand that I am a work in progress and that is willing to be patient, understanding, and to work with me. My foster mom knows that I will be an amazing wonderful pet to the right family. Are you that family?
