I am a VERY SPECIAL BOY!! I have quite the SUPERDOG story. So, here it goes… it’s a bird, it’s a plane….no it’s me THATCHER!!! I was picked up as a stray and found myself at BARC. I was injured in the worst way. I had two very large holes the size of an adults fingers in the hard pallet of my mouth called oral fistulas. They were not a birth defect, but from a trauma. The fact that I was still alive was a true MIRACLE! Everything that went into my mouth whether food or water travelled thru the holes in the roof of my mouth and either out my nose or into my lungs. I was very skinny because not much made it to my stomach. But I still had a waggy tail and soaring spirit! I had surgery the next day and went into a foster to heal. It took a while for my mouth to heal. But don’t worry I have made up for lost time. I am now officially a FOODIE!! I especially love Peanut butter.
During my recovery Mommers (my foster mom) realized that I had an eye issue…so, off to the eye specialist I went. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with SARDS (Sudden atrophy retinal detachment syndrome). Which means I am going blind and there is nothing that can be done to help my sight. I am taking a supplement in the hopes that it prolongs my vision as long as possible. However, eventually I will be blind. The good news is that this disease is not painful. Not to worry this condition has not slowed me down one bit! I can currently still see and when the different light of the day changes I am very good at using my other senses to navigate. I can find Mommers anywhere! My Eye doc says I need to find a loving home while I still have sight so that I can learn to maneuver my new place.
You ask…what do I need? I am seeking a good forever home that has stock in Peanut butter! My new family should love to cuddle, play occasionally and want a new shadow…er best friend. I would not mind being an only child (more love for me!) but if I am joining another doggy they need to be calm. Hopefully, my new family will love food as much as me
I am the sweetest boy with a joy for life. I am always smiling, super friendly and deserve the best home after all I have been thru. Is that your home? Email email@example.com to meet me.
