Heidi's Story...
Heidi is a shepherd mix, female. She was found as a puppy by the side of the road. She is about 1 ½ years old now. She loves to run and play. She lets little dogs chase her and she plays with them. She does great with her foster family and has done great with the child she has been around. Not sure about cats. Her foster sister who is also in the rescue, Madison, is very attached to Heidi so we would like them to be adopted together. She is so ready for her furever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Heidi, a Macon German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Macon, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Macon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Macon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Macon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Macon paves the way for another one to be saved.
