My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scruffy Is agreat little frizzy faced boy with a fun personality. He is doing very well in his training in New Leash on Life at Gaston Correctional. He has some anxiety issues that we are working on. Loud noises outside seem to scare him. Otherwise he is a happy healthy littt;e fella. FurBabies is in partnership with The NC Department of Correction and the New Leash on Life Program and Scruffy is in the current training class. It is a WIN/WIN/WIN... A WIN for the Inmates because they have the opportunity to work with the animals, which gives them a purpose and an opportunity for employment when they are released from prison, a WIN for the dog because it learns all of the commands to earn it’s Canine Good Citizenship Certificate which is the first step in becoming a therapeutic dog and most schools, nursing homes and other locations allow dogs with Good Citizenship Training to be a part of programs at their facilities, and of course a WIN for the new owner who get and absolutely amazing highly trained rescue dog.
