Ramsey's Story...
Hey everybody, I’m Ramsey. My brother, Oliver, and I were found covered in oil when we were pretty small. Luckily, we were cleaned up and taken to a wonderful foster home where we’ve grown big and strong. Now we’re on the hunt for our very own forever homes.

I’m a very curious kitty, and I love to play. One of the greatest things I have discovered since I’ve become a pampered indoor kitty are toys. I cannot be expected to pick a favorite when there are so many to choose from: toys with bells, funny colored mice, and balls galore - all mine for the taking! The special humans who take care of me are pretty great too. Not only do they bring me all the food I could ever dream of, they give out lots of pets and head scratches and let me snuggle whenever I want.

I think my perfect forever home would have plenty of places for me to explore, towers for me to climb, toys for me to play with, oh, and people who will give me all the love and attention I want. Does that sound like your house?

If you'd like to meet me, please email cats@henricohumane.org to setup a visit. Don't forget to tell them you want to meet Ramsey!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ramsey, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
