My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hemingway is a sweet boy who loves affection and is working to trust humans again. His foster parents shower him with love and sometimes he's just not sure what to do about it. He hasn't had one accident inside his foster home. He likes to just chill and relax with his humans, he is low-energy & calm. He is great with other dogs and kids. Hemingway needs a home that understands he's adjusting to being loved and cared for. He will require a home with a secure fence-in yard, preferably a vinyl or wood privacy fence as chain link fencing would be too tempting for him.

Hemingway is a Golden Retriever(mix) but in a smaller body. He has a gorgeous golden-red coat similar to that of an Irish Setter. He is 5 yrs old & weighs 30 lbs. He was rescued from a rural shelter that is outdoors only in Missouri that has no adoption program. Rescue was his only way to make it out alive. He had been found as a stray trying to survive on his own and was never reclaimed. He was so sad in the shelter, his pictures there broke our hearts & we knew we had to save him.

Hemingway is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative & dewormed. He has completed heartworm treatment and will need to remain on monthly heartworm prevention for the rest of his life, as all dogs should & is recommend by veterinarians. Adoption fee is $250. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled AFTER your application has been approved.
