Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MAVERICK and his bother Max (who has been adopted) had been deeply loved and well cared for all their life. However, their family situation became difficult and abusive, so the family separated and the boys were surrendered to us. Everyone is safe now.
After careful observations, evaluations and considerations we have decided it would be best if the boys were separated. We know Maverick will not be happy about this decision as he is used to being the boss man over his brother. While these brothers do get along together just fine, Maverick did dominate his brother.
Maverick is an intelligent, strong, sturdy and healthy Miniature Poodles who was born October 12, 2008. He is 15 inches tall measuring from the floor to his shoulders. While Maverick was the runt of the litter, he is now a bit overweight at a strong and sturdy 20 pounds.
He is JUST FINE with all our Poodles and greatly enjoys being with Mike and I as Maverick considers himself a family member and not a dog! He is an unusual color called SABLE, which I have never seen in the Poodle world. Very pretty too!
As pictured on our web site, Maverick had a skin issue on both of his rear hips. We are uncertain as to what that problem was or what happened, but our Vet has found NO PROBLEMS now and his hair is growing back.
Maverick and his brother came to us very scared and shy. They were both very unsure of themselves, lacked any confidence and did not understand what was going on in their scary world of confusion. It has taken them longer than most Poodles to warm up to our home and all the excitement we have to offer.
Are you up for some work? Maverick is considered special needs as we can clearly see that he is shy when he first meets people and still very afraid of men. Mike and I are both working with Maverick to find he is one smart Poodle! With your patience and love, he will find his confidence to accept men.
All 20 pounds of him knows how to jump into a lap for some loving. He really likes to play with the toys, follows me around the house. Maverick prefers older children and adults. He considers himself more of a family member than a dog.Maverick Humble
Maverick has been a perfect gentleman in our home (house trained). Grab his leash and he enjoys going for walks. Once he knows you, he will become very attached to you.
Maverick has been neutered, Vet checked healthy, teeth cleaned up nicely with only two loose teeth removed. He is heart-worm tested negative, placed on a preventative, Home Again micro-chipped and registered, all shots are up to date and he was recently groomed.
Maverick is a very nice Miniature Poodle which you can mold into a GREAT Miniature Poodle!
His $250.00 adoption fee, plus $18.00 Minnesota State sales tax, will also include a bag of quality dog food, dog treats, leash, collar, blanket, dog bed, various toys and a dog kennel.
