BUDDY's Story...
“BUDDY” is a “Miniature Poodle” who had been deeply loved and well cared for all of his life. This very pretty brown boy comes from a elderly couple who were experiencing failing health and could no longer care for themselves or their beloved “Buddy”.

Sadly, Buddy has been bounced around as family members stepped in to try and find Buddy a new home. Buddy has now come to Picket Fence Poodle Rescue Rehome in hopes that we can find him a family where he can once again be someones ONLY “Buddy”!

He misses his family and is slowly learning to adjust to a new environment. However, we all know that Poodles are one of the smartest and most “Versatile” dogs. With love, patience and time, Buddy will adjust to his new family.

Buddy is a 15″ tall and 15 pound very active Miniature Poodle. He loves to play with toys and once he gets to know you, he is very sociable and outgoing. Did I tell you he loves to play with toys?

Yet, brown Poodles are NOT for everyone as they do have “quirks”. With Buddy, I have seen him center his attention on one toy and watch it for a long time.
With toys that have squeaker’s, he will rip them apart to get the squeaker out. NOT a problem and not unusual for some dogs. So, we have learned to remove the toys that have a squeaker in them.

I can see that Buddy is a pretty, nice structure, square Miniature Poodle who certainly comes from quality Poodle lines. The family can not remember where he came from. But that doesn’t stop this boy to have that loving, gentle, quiet Poodle personality and disposition in him. For his age (11/20/2005), he is very active, healthy and has no health issues. Grab a leash and he will also be your walking buddy to the ends of the world.

He is extremely quiet; I’ve not heard him bark yet! He also has been a perfect gentleman in our home (house trained). A soft and gentle boy who would really like to sleep in your bed.

Buddy also wants everyone to know that he has been an only Poodle all of his life. So please, he would like to continue to be an ONLY Poodle. He is good with older children, but enjoys them more when they leave for their own home. So, please no young children or large dogs.

His recent Vet check found Buddy healthy, his teeth were cleaned and only one loose tooth was pulled. He is heart-worm tested negative, placed on a preventative, Home Again micro-chipped and registered, all shots are up to date and he was recently groomed.

What a perfect Poodle for the right family. His $200.00 adoption fee, plus $14.00 Minnesota State sales tax, will also include a bag of quality dog food, dog treats, leash, collar, a new blanket, a dog bed, various toys and his dog kennel.

This is a very nice and extremely smart Miniature Poodle who truly deserves a good and loving home. Like with Carmen, Buddy needs a family where he will be loved, get lots of attention and finally have a home to rest his weary bones before he goes into our God’s loving arms.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BUDDY, a Elk River Miniature Poodle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Miniature Poodle for sale in Elk River, or seeking a Miniature Poodle dog from a breeder in Elk River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elk River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elk River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Miniature Poodle breeders who help with Miniature Poodle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elk River paves the way for another one to be saved.
