Hi! My name is Chuy. I am a 6 year old male Chihuahua mix with the cutest side bite you've ever seen! I have been living in a shelter for the last 4 years and I flew to Utah on a big airplane after CAWS rescued me! My foster mom says that I am a Happy go lucky little guy! I am really enjoying living in a home and I am learning a lot of new things. I am very easy going and love to play with toys, chase a Frisbee and wrestle with the other dogs in my foster home. I get along with dogs of all sizes and I am curious about cats! I like to watch them but if they get to close I run away. My favorite thing to do is cuddle on my humans lap and watch T.V. (he is mesmerized by the T.V.) I love to be as close to my humans as I can! I am currently working on potty training, crate training and basic obedience which will need to be continued in my new home. I am more than ready to find my Fur-ever home and have a human to call my own...If you are looking for a Happy go lucky, loving and playful little friend, I'm your guy!

Chuy is fully vaccinated, microchipped and fixed. His adoption fee is $150.

About Community Animal Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation

Come Meet Our Pets...

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

Our Adoption Process...

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.
