Meet beautiful sisters Bayley and Sasha! This pair is an instant-family for some lucky adopter. Their foster parents say they are the easiest, gentlest, quietest, sweetest cats they have ever fostered. They are easy to care for, have a calm energy, and enjoy people without being demanding. Being combed and watching birds out the window are their favorite things, and they are quite the lap cats, too.

In late April, we received a plea to help this pair of 16 year old cats who had been surrendered to a rural Wisconsin shelter. Their elderly owners could no longer care for them, and the sisters were devastated to lose the only family they had ever known. A shelter is no place for geriatric cats, and the girls needed to get to a foster home ASAP. As soon as we said yes, our friends at Badger Rescue Animal Transport Services got them to us the very same day.

Bayley and Sasha have gone through the grieving process and are adjusting well to a foster home. They tolerate the big dogs and the other elderly cats in the foster home.  As their owners had not been able to afford their veterinary care, Bayley and Sasha were brought up to date on vaccinations, have had senior blood panels performed, and both had urgent dental surgeries on May 6. Between the two of them, they had 14 teeth removed...poor things! But, they are doing great now and are quite healthy for their age, and could have years left to be your companions, as we're seeing more and more cats live into their 20s.

Bayley, the long-haired sister, came in with matted fur, but absolutely loves being combed and even gave her foster mom kisses as she tugged at the worst of her mats. Sasha is a bit more shy, but once you get her purr motor going, she can't stop! Splitting the two girls up is not an option after they've been together their whole lives and are never far from each other. We are hoping someone special will open their heart and home to these sweet girls and give them a wonderful retirement home.

Thanks to all of the wonderful people who supported their vet care! You can read more about Bayley and Sasha's journey at

All cats/kittens are up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, spayed/neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, and microchipped prior to going to their new homes.

You can visit Bayley and Sasha at their foster home in Fitchburg with an approved application. They are currently taking a break from attending adoption events.

About Angel's Wish

About Our Rescue Group...

Angel’s Wish is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization founded in 2000.

Mission Statement
Angel’s Wish is dedicated to reducing animal overpopulation, rehoming companion animals, and raising awareness of animal welfare issues in South Central Wisconsin.

Why are we called Angel's Wish?
Lois Lawrence, a founding member of Angel's Wish, once rescued a kitten from a construction site. Weak with starvation, dehydration, and a severe upper respiratory infection, neither veterinary treatment nor Lois’ love and care could save the kitten from the effects of that hot June day. Angel died that night in Lois' arms. We believe that Angel's Wish would have been that no other animal be subjected to pain, suffering, abandonment or neglect.

About the Animals of Angel’s Wish
We divert animals from ever arriving at area shelters, and as space allows, assist rescue groups and shelters. We accept only animals we have space to care for, and euthanize only for severe medical or temperament reasons. Animals stay in their current home or are cared for in volunteer foster homes until adoptive homes are found.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Adopt a new furry friend
Our volunteer foster homes get to know their fostered animals well and understand their personalities—allowing us to make great matches between people and pets! Let us know about your family situation, current pets, and the type of pet you are looking for and we can guide you to animals that would be a great match.

Our primary adoption site is the Angel’s Wish Pet Adoption and Resource Center at 161 Horizon Drive, Suite 106 in Verona-just a few minutes from Madison. Visit adoptable animals, and get acquainted in private visiting rooms. Open hours are Saturdays 10am to 4pm and Sundays 1pm to 4pm.

We also hold weekly adoptions on Sundays from 1pm to 4pm at Petsmart East in Madison at 2216 East Springs Drive.

Stop by a regularly scheduled or special “mobile” adoption event at locations throughout Dane, Jefferson, and Rock counties. Please see our website to see where the pets will be next!

Our Adoption Process...

Before any Angel’s Wish animal is placed in a new home, he or she is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and treated for parasites and any known medical concerns. Cats are tested for FeLV/FIV; dogs are tested for heartworm and are microchipped. Upon adoption, all animals are eligible for one month of complimentary ShelterCare Pet Insurance. Cats adopted at the Angel's Wish Pet Adoption and Resource Center also go home with a goodie bag, a coupon for a free nail trim, and a $5 off coupon for microchipping. 100% of adoption fees are applied to animal medical care.

An application, adoption fee, and contract is required.
