Carmela's Story...
Carmela is a beautiful young kitten who loves hearing you speak of her beauty. She is very much a people cat who loves to be petted and receive attention. Her medium length fur is so soft. She is very shy at first and will take a bit to warm up to her people or other cats in the house. She is in a foster home with 3 large dogs but she is not a fan of the canine variety. She may eventually warm up to a small low energy dog, but she would prefer not to share her forever home with one. Her ideal home would be with adults or a family with older teenagers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carmela, a Burlington Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Burlington, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Burlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Burlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Burlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Burlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
