Brandy is a brindle beauty who unfortunately found herself surrendered to a high kill shelter in Northeast Louisiana.  She was a volunteer favorite, but after being at the shelter for an extended time, she began to shut down.  Luckily, she was pulled by a local rescue, PAWS of Northeast Louisiana and has totally come out of her shell in foster care.  Brandy was very skinny and malnourished when first rescued.  She is now a healthy 70 pounds at approximately 4 years old.  We think Brandy is a Catahoula mix.  She is a tall, leggy girl. In Brandy's Louisiana foster home, she lives with four other dogs; although, she tends to bully them at times.  Brandy’s foster mom says, “she can be somewhat food aggressive, although this is just by growling only... no fights!  This behavior may possibly stem from her past of being neglected and starved.  Make no mistake, Brandy LOVES people and attention.  Therefore, we suggest Brandy live in a home as an only dog.  Due to her large size, it is also recommended she go to a home with no small or young children as she may accidentally knock them over.  We are unsure of how Brandy is with cats.”  Brandy is 100% doggie door potty trained, and she loves to sleep on her foster parents' king size bed at her foster mommy's feet!  Brandy enjoys being outdoors and playing with her squeaky toys and chewing on antlers.  She can be trusted to stay indoors uncrated while her parents are at work or away from the house.  She also does well on car rides.  Brandy needs someone willing to give her a loving home with lots of attention that she deserves....please email us at to apply for this life sized angel!

Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

All of our dogs are spayed/ neutered before adoption. Adult dogs have had their core vaccines---parvo, distemper, bordatella, and rabies, All dogs are tested and are heartworm negative.  In addition they have been de-wormed and kept on heartworm prevention and flea prevention while in foster care. Most dogs come with a micr-chip already implanted. Adoption fees range from 235.00- 275.00 depending on the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not even cover the cost of all of the vetting we have done for a dog.   In addition, some of our dogs are fostered in the South and come up once adopted---There is an additional transport fee for these dogs.  Please contact the person listed in the bio for more information on a particular dog. We are very careful in placing our dogs--and look for the best home for each dog--All of our dogs are fostered in private homes, with fosters who get to know the dogs and know the types of home that would be best for each dog. Thank you for considering a rescued pet and we look forward to helping you find a great dog match--
