Description: Karmen is an adorable little, reddish-brown dog with short legs and a longer back. Possibly a Chiweenie?
Personality: Kuddly Karmen is exactly that: cuddly! She is a very affectionate little girl, whose favorite place is on your lap or right beside you. When that's not possible, she likes soft, fluffy beds and blankets -- the snugglier the better! We're looking for a home with a fenced yard, and, ideally, the company of a doggie playmate of a similar energy level (whether a resident dog or another dog she could see frequently). Karmen loves to go on short jaunts, and walks nicely on the leash. She has excellent social skills, and is great at meeting new people and thoroughly enjoys playing with other dogs. She also loves playing with stuffed toys and occasionally likes to chew on a Nylabone.
Karmen is not fond of a crate. While she would prefer to have the run of the house when her foster mom is gone (and has done this successfully for up to 4 hours), she does fine in the kitchen with a baby gate for longer periods.
Karmen would be happiest in a relatively calm home with someone who can spend a good bit of time with her. She would strongly prefer someone who would let her sleep in the bed with them at night! Sweet, sweet Karmen will make a wonderful addition to someone's family!
Animal History: Karmen's owner passed away. No family or friends wanted her, so she lived on a chain until she was rescued by IAR.
