Subway is a very sweet kitty. Please be sure to read her full story of how she was rescued below. She acts like she really wants to be loved on and will even meow at her foster mom when she wants something. She is becoming more trusting, and we know in the right home, she will blossom! She will just need lots of time and patience. She is fine with other cats and dogs, and even looks to other kitties for assurance. She will allow you to be in the same room as her, but if you go to pet her or pick her up, she will likely hide until she knows she can trust you. She would do best in a quiet home where there isn't a lot of noise/activity or coming/going. She will need time, lots of it, and hopefully she will come out of her shell and make a great companion for the right person. She was a great mommy and now that her babies are grown and gone, she needs to be treated like the princess she is so that maybe she will learn that humans aren't bad, and that she really does deserve to be loved.
Subway's Story: Dolly's Legacy was contacted by the employees of a Subway sandwich shop about a mom who had a litter of kittens and was frequenting their store parking lot looking for food in order to keep herself & her little family alive. It was in the middle of a brutally cold winter, and we could not bear the thought of them being out in the elements, and likely freezing to death. Mama, whom we have named 'Subway', and all four of her boys, whom we have named Meatball, Teriyaki, Turkey & Pickles, were rescued by our volunteers on a bitterly cold night. They were scared, but grateful to have a warm place to sleep and full bellies. Her boys were all adopted, yet mommy remains, waiting for her chance.
Subway is vaccinated, microchipped & dewormed. Adoption fee is $75. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled AFTER your application has been approved.
