Blake- ADOPTION PENDING: 10 years old, black and tan male, natural tail and ears, 15" and 17 lbs, shots up to date, owner surrender.
Tall, dark, and handsome, Blake is the vision of a dignified gentleman. As such, he doesn't have time for fetch, cats, or rival males. He does however, have all the time in the world for humans of all ages, cuddles, and naps. In fact, if he feels neglected, he has no trouble sitting right down on your lap until he's had his fill.
Good on a leash, Blake loves a good walk, even though he tires easily. And while he enjoys his humans, he yearns for freedom. He will see any open door as an opportunity to escape, but even a minor impediment will thwart his effort.
Be prepared to house train him. It took him a while to adjust to the doggy door and time at the house without humans watching him. He comes with a belly-band to keep your floors pee free until he gets the hang of the bathroom routine. This may not be an issue if there are no other male dogs in the household. He is possessive and often aggressive toward other male dogs, which may be contributing to the "accidents." Other dogs also tend to get him wound up into barking fits.
I strongly recommend a household with no other male dogs, and he will absolutely not be sent to a home with any cats. Absolutely, NO CATS. Please do not even inquire, if you have cats. I would rather keep this cuddly little wonder forever than send him to an owner who has to return him.
Note: Blake is located in CA in the Sacramento area - and we will not fly this boy.
