Dear Fur-evers....

My name is Tristan!  I am a small purebred and weigh about 12-13lbs and although DRLA at first thought I was about 7 yrs old because of some grey whiskers on my chin, I might be younger (more like 4-5yrs old).  Still waiting to hear back on that one.  I'm also neutered and had a full dental - so my teeth are now pearly whites!

I have adorable platypus paws.  They are giant, much bigger than my little legs, which gives me an adorable saunter as I walk.  Think of me as the Fred Astaire of dachshunds. You know, Fred Astaire, the famous dancer of the 1930's who had famously big feet?  I also have lovely short, red, chestnut fur.  Foster mom says I'm quite handsome.

My foster calls a little "wiggle worm." I prance around, flop down on my back and wiggle around until I get a belly rub.  It's the best!  I was a bit unsure of this new place but with patience and love I warmed quickly.  I'm definitely a snuggler.  I also love to hang out in my crate (with the door open).  It feels like my own personal den!

I also LOVE going for car rides.  I'm great in the passenger seat as long as I'm belted in.  I'm also great on walks and I'm also potty trained.  I like to play hard and sleep hard.  I'm all boy!  I love to run around in the backyard.  But I also like being near you.  I'm also good at staying home while you are at work... so as long as you can come take me out for a mid day potty break, I will patiently wait for your return so we can go on a walk together!  I will also be your faithful guard dog.  I will let you know when another dog or person is out and about but I do settle down quickly.

I am waiting for my best friend!  Won't you consider taking me, my floppy ears and adorable platypus/elephant paws home with you?

I need to let you in on a little secret.... I don't do well at adoption events. Foster dad said we should schedule a private meet and greet at my foster home or a mutually convenient place.  Hope this works for you since I want you to see me at my finest!

Love,
Tristan
