Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sophia had a rough winter and that's an understatement! At 8 months old, and only 11 lbs, she was hit by a car and left for dead. Thankfully, animal control fished her out of a culvert and Friends of Rescue raised the money for the surgery she needed to survive. Sophia has recovered and the time has come for her to find her forever home. The little diva has no recollection of this bad experience as she runs and plays like any one year old pup would. Her favorite game is fetch and she still does puppy laps when she's excited. She is a lap dog on her own terms (when she's not busy) and sleeps in her crate throughout the night like a champ. She's a smart cookie and will let you know if her water bowl is empty. She also knows basic commands like "sit" and "down". Sophia LOVES being outside.
She will sometimes bark in new situations so her new home will need to continue providing new experiences to keep her socialized. She may never grow out of barking but is extremely loyal to her family and so much fun. She does get jealous over other dogs and will sometimes snap at them if you’re showing them attention but this behavior continues to improve in her foster home. However, she's not recommended to a home with another jealous animal. She plays wonderfully with other dogs but doesn't have to have a canine sibling. If you want to get her energy out, a sibling would help. She's interested in cats because she's still in her puppy stage. However, when a cat comes towards her she cowers and runs. Sophia is fostered in Huntsville, AL but is available to the right home in any location. You can fill out an application for Sophia at http://forrescue.net/dog-application/ or email info@forrescue.net with specific questions. Sophia is spayed, current on vaccines, heart-worm negative, micro-chipped, and current on Heart-worm/Flea prevention.
