Facts about Joey

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Gray Or Blue (Mostly)
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
Joey has us all wrapped around his paw, but he is looking for a real home where he can have more freedom to be his goofy self. Joey has been with us for awhile, and for good reason. When we first got him as an owner surrender, they said he was not good with other cats and that he would constantly hide and never come out. When Joey came to the shelter he was nervous and would hiss at us and wouldn't let us touch him. He was also very overweight, his coat was in terrible condition, and he was overall just an unhappy mess of a cat. It took months before Joey let us pet him, and after that breakthrough, he has only gotten better and better!

If you met Joey today, you wouldn't even believe his past. Joey goes right up to people now and rubs up against them, asking for attention. He loves to play with toys and will drag them out of the toybox for himself. He gets along just fine with all of the other cats here, and the only time he gets a little attitude is when we have to put him back in his room, as he enjoys being able to sleep on his favorite cabinet in our cat room. He has lost weight and has a soft coat now. Joey cracks everyone up, as he is a very personable cat full of all kinds of funny quirks. We would love to see Joey go to a loving home, as he has certainly earned it at this point! If you're looking for a large cat with a lot of personality, come meet our boy Joey!

About Our Shelter...

CSA was founded in 1990 by Veterinarian, Robert R Blease, DVM to provide an organization where all persons and groups can logically and intellectually discuss all issues affecting animal welfare. CSA has a "common sense" philosophy regarding food animals, wildlife, research and companion pets. We operate a No-kill Shelter and believe education and community service are our most valuable assets.
