Daphne's Story...
Daphne is a young domestic shorthair best described as a calico tabby. She is less than 1 year old, is fully vetted and has front and back claws. Daphne was found outside, starving and eating whatever scraps she could find. A collar around her neck had made its way under her left front leg and was cutting her with every step she took. She was quite skinny and scared when she was humanely trapped, but has always been very gentle with people. She prefers not to have the company of other cats and most likely feels similarly about dogs. An athletic and clever girl, Daphne chases balls and string and can leap like a dear. She loves to find small, secret places to a sleep - like a dresser drawer or under the comforter on the bed. She also likes to sleep on laps. She talks back when she hears her name, which she does recognize. Daphne is litter box trained. She's delightful, soft and very fun. Because of her outdoor history, Daphne should be be kept indoors only and shouldn't be trusted outside.

Please email The Rescue Project at kcpetfinder@hotmail.com to meet Daphne. Her adoption fee is $100 and includes spay, shots, microchip, and testing for Feline Leukemia.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daphne, a Overland Park Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
