My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LIGHTNING is a 4 year old neutered yellow male Lab who weighs 81 pounds. Lightening is a charismatic and loving puppy! He just wants to be loved and played with. He loves his "babies" (toys), playing ball or frisbee outside and generally just being with you. Will give kisses for being petted. He does not get people food, except for maybe a french fry once in a while. He gets "cookies" (dog bones) when he is a good boy coming in from outside. He runs fast and loves to jump!! He needs room to run as Lightning will chase anything in the yard that does not belong there (squirrels, rabbits and birds!). Must have a fence yard the larger the better. He is trained to an Invisible Fence and does well with it but once in a while does try to test the boundaries.
he has been around younger children but has not lived with any. Good with other dogs. No cat history. He knows basic commands such as sit, stay, lay and come. He will sit and give you either paw and when asked. He is house and crate trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. He is crated when we are not at home. He will bark when he hears strange noises. Lightning must have a fenced yard. He comes from the suburbs and has no exposure to big cities. Placements is limited to single family stand-alone homes in a suburban neighborhood, or rural area. Lightning is approved for kids ages 10+. More info soon

From Owner - We have had Lightening since he was a puppy and he has been a joy. My husband recently had to have emergency back surgery to remove a tumor after he was paralyzed from the waist down. Tumor was diagnosed as malignant and he is having chemo treatments. His immune system is compromised and doctors recommended he not be around any animals during his treatment and recovery. Recovery will take several months, we want Lightening to get all the love and attention he deserves so are. They asked us to find him a new home.
