My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HARVEY is a 1 year old neutered yellow male Lab who weighs 65 pounds. Harvey was a stray to the shelter. A man brought him to the shelter after Harvey had strayed onto his property. He said Harvey was a good dog and wanted to keep him but Harvey played a little too rough with his baby goats. Harvey is very sweet and calm. His dreamy eyes will have you spellbound! Harvey enjoys treats and takes them very gently. He is a country dog so lots of things are new to him. While he is a bit apprehensive, he seems to catch on quick with treats, praise, and gentle encouragement. Harvey is good with other dogs. No baby livestock!!
From the transporter: Harvey was a bit overwhelmed by the chaos of a multi-leg transport. It can be scary for a country boy -- so many strangers, traffic noises, and in/out of vehicles! But, he's smart and brave and figured it out quickly. With gentle encouragement, he jumped into the crate and settled in for the ride. Such a calm, gentle, quiet and sweet boy. By the time we got to the vets office, he was more relaxed. All the ladies were swooning over this handsome boy and that made his tail wag :). Harvey is the sweetest dog. He is approved for kids 10+. More info soon!

Update: Harvey is a good boy, who takes treats gently. He knows sit, and he knows to sit before his food bowl gets put down. He is a pretty quiet guy, only barking because his foster brother barked first or because one of the neighbor dogs was barking. He slept through the night, and went outside first thing in the morning to take care of business. He responds very well to correction. He likes to be pet continuously and will just bask in the love. When playing fetch, sometimes he brings it back, sometimes he doesn't - he will allow you to take the ball from him, and will sit when you ask him to so you can throw it again. Fetch is his biggest "activity time" - this boy is super mellow! Watch him play: https://youtu.be/tIzKS-Mb3aI
