My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! My name is Amber, and I am a very sweet, beautiful declawed female Maine Coon domestic medium hair mix who finds myself in the precarious position of needing a new home for a second time in 9 months. The first time was because I lost my mom who died. Even though her daughter's family really wanted to keep me, a family member was severely allergic to me. I found another home quickly through Buster's Friends, but now someone in my new family is also allergic to me. I know that I will find another home - the third time is the charm, right?
I guess those with allergies need not apply to adopt me so that my third home is my forever home. I know how it is with allergies: I too have them and just need an inexpensive pill daily so that I don't itch myself.
You will fall in love with my huge emerald-green eyes and my big fluff of a tail. I have so much love to give but need to find the home that will give me time to get acclimated to another home, again.
I was born in 2006 but have a lot of life left in me. I am perfect for someone who is looking for a gentle, loyal, affectionate cat who is NOT a rambunctious teenager who knocks over all your precious trinkets and shreds your sofa. Plus I'm friendly and outgoing, in my own way: my foster mom reports that when I hear her talking on the speaker phone, I come downstairs to find out who's 'visiting!'
I have been the only pet in both my previous homes, so I can't tell you if I'm good with other cats and gentle dogs. My foster mom testifies that I am AMAZINGLY good around her small grandkids -- even the rambunctious ones -- when they come to visit. Not only do I stay in the room observing their activities, but I also really enjoy it when the little tykes pet me gently. Don't you think that it's a real testimony to my sweet disposition and flexibility that I don't freak out at preschoolers as do some kitties even younger than I am?
I really just want someone who will love me for the rest of my life, and I am confident that I will find forever love soon. Won't you let me curl up in your lap as I purr like a perking coffeepot? I guarantee that I will lower your blood pressure and shine rays of amber sunlight in your day.
Amber is declawed, updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. Her adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Amber, and we can let you know exactly where you can meet her.
To make the process more efficient, download the adoption application at http://www.bustersfriends.org/catadoptionapplication.shtml.
