They used to call me Ferdinand Duke, because when I walked, I liked to stop and smell the roses.  But I fooled them all, and now I’m actually jogging with my foster Mom!

I love, love, love to walk.  Whenever anyone mentions that word, I go and get my leash to let them know I am READY!  I am also the typical Lab who loves food, so foster Mom says it’s good I’m jogging, as I need to watch my figure.

I am a BIG boy, and am still working on losing a few pounds, but I say that just means there is more of me to love!  And there’s nothing better than snuggling with my humans.  I live with 3 young boys who think I am just a big teddy bear.  I even have them trained to give me treats!  And I reward them by taking them oh so gently.

I also live with 2 fur brothers, and we get along famously!  I noticed they kept running after this ball, and bringing it back, so after watching for a while, I decided to try it myself.  It sure does tire a guy out!  And then I get to do another favorite thing – take a nap!

I’d probably be good in almost any kind of home except one with cats.  I’m not fond of those little critters at all.  I may be a bit too big for really young children, because to them I probably look like a horse!

I am just a very mellow 7-8 yr. old lover who is looking for his forever home.  If you're looking for a big paw to rest on your foot or a loving doggie head on the couch next to you as you watch TV, then I'm your man!

About Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a labrador retriever rescue that places labs and lab mixes in new homes. We do this because we love the lab breed and want to be sure dogs in need of a new home find the right home for them.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Some , but not all, of our dogs are present at events we attend throughout our coverage areas in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. For the most part, adopters do not meet a dog until they are introduced to the dog they are matched with. This introduction takes place after they have a home visit and are matched with one of our dogs and the meeting is held at a neutral location half way between the dog and the applicant.

Our Adoption Process...

All applicants complete an application and have a home visit before being approved to adopt. Once approved to adopt, they wait to find the right dog for their family. They are required to sign a pre-adoptive agreement and keep the dog they are matched with for a 3 week pre-adoptive period. If all goes well during that period, they sign an adoption agreement and adopt the dog. The fees vary depending on the age and altered status of the dog. We do require all dogs to be altered if they are not already and require obedience training as well
