You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

All of our dogs are in foster homes and we have no paid staff.  If you have questions concerning a specific dog,  PLEASE fill out an application and the foster parent will be in touch.  We will not arrange any home visits with any of our dogs until your application is processed.  Please understand our foster parents are precious to our 2nd Chance family; without them we cannot function, so we do our best to not burden them with multiple appointments.  Our foster parents will choose their top 3 applications and arrange home visits with these applicants.  The adopter will be chosen at that time.  The process can take anywhere from a week to a month.  We want to make sure our little furry ones are placed in their "forever home" and never have to go through a rehoming again!

My name is Chris and my foster mom says I’m about as sweet as they come.  If you are looking for a lap dog and total lover, I’m your guy.  Once I get to know you, I’ll follow you everywhere and will be happy to curl up on your lap.  Hopefully you’ll want to give me a few belly rubs and kisses.  I love them too!

My story doesn't start very good :(  I was in a not so great home and they weren't taking care of me or 'my lady friend'.  We were matted and I had an injury to my leg.  It hurt really bad and I couldn’t walk on it but no one was helping me :(  Thank goodness the shelter guy came and he told our owners they either signed us over or they would be going to court.  They signed us over.  It was sort of scary cause we didn't know what was going to happen.  We then got put in a big van in different cages and that was REALLY scary cause my lady friend and I had never been separated and she was having my babies!!  We finally stopped and 2 ladies took us to their car and they put us in a cage together with a really nice soft cushy blanket YAY!!!  Then they took us to this special place called a doggie spa and they gave us baths and cut our mats out and made us look pretty good if I must say so myself.   We even smelled good!!!  It was amazing and then just when we thought things couldn't get any better they did!  We went to this nice house with other dogs and a big fenced yard, good food and fluffy blankets to sleep on and they operated on my leg which feels much better now, thank you very much!

2nd Chance  4 Life hoped to find a forever home for both me and my lady friend but we had to be separated for a while after the babies were born and when we were reunited, the bond was no longer there ):   Since then, my babies momma and all the babies have gone to their forever homes, and now it’s my turn to find my forever home!

Because I didn’t have a good early life, there are things I was never taught.  For instance, I never learned how to leash walk, but I’m learning now.  I love to go for a walk every day and while I’m not great on a leash yet, I’m getting better all the time.  I learned early on not to be too trusting, so I’m very shy and sometimes scared around people I don’t know.  I need a home with people who will be patient with me and help me to learn to trust.  Although I may need a little help with some doggie skills, I have an incredibly sweet disposition, and nothing that’s happened to me in life has changed that!  I’ve had way too many adventures for one little guy and am ready to settle in with my forever family!!

Please understand we do not adopt out to families with children under the age of 5.  We do not adopt to renters.  Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.

A dog is a lifetime commitment.  The dogs in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners :(   We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the dog is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs.  Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

About 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is a foster network. Our goal is to find our precious little ones their "forever families" where they will live out the rest of their lives. Your dog is a part of your family and should be treated as such. You don't give away your children and neither should your loyal pet be dispensable!
All our dogs must be altered before adoption. Spay/Neuter is the only way to stop the senseless overpopulation we have now. Our hope is one day with education we will live in a society where shelters are not a necessity and no animal will die just for lack of space!
