Jenna's Story...

Jenna was rescued from a horrible puppy mill that was just shut down. She has previously had no socialization, vet care or affection of any kind and is completely traumatized. Jenna was used as a breeder dog in the puppy mill and forced to have litter after litter in very unhealthy surroundings.

Once she comes our of her shell more we will know more about her personality, but she does like other dogs and benefits from socializing with them. She has also seemed fine with cats so far.

She has no idea what a leash is or about house manners (like potty training) as she has never lived anywhere but a small filthy kennel with other dogs and treated as 'livestock.' She is having to learn everything from scratch.

Jenna's spirit seems to have been nearly broken, but she is still clinging on to the hope that world is a good place. Because of her cruel treatment in the past she has completely shut down to the world around her as a defense mechanism. In the warmth of her foster home she is being shown loves, given yummy meals, and slowly but surely will be making little steps toward normalcy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jenna, a Libertyville Labrador Retriever/Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Libertyville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Libertyville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Libertyville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Libertyville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Libertyville paves the way for another one to be saved.
