Reggie's Story...
Looking for cute 'shaggy' dog? Reggie is a 2 year old, 40 pound, bearded collie. We do not know if he is purebred but he sure looks like it. Poor Reggie had to be shaved because he was matted to the skin and covered in dirt, pee and poop. He had spent his life tied-up living in a filthy back yard and had open wounds, and deep scars on his neck when we got him. He was named Rags so we wanted to give him a proper name (close to his last one) that this beautiful British breed deserves. So we named him Reginald, Reggie for short. Even with all that Reggie still oves people and really gets excited when he sees kids. He is extremely smart, (house-broken in 1-day), joyous, playful, quick to learn and is sharing space happily with 3 other dogs in his foster home. He is a wonderful dog. His adoption donation is $225.00. To learn more about our adoption process or to fill out an application for Reggie go to our web site at www.animaleducationandrescue.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Reggie, a Libertyville Bearded Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bearded Collie for sale in Libertyville, or seeking a Bearded Collie dog from a breeder in Libertyville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Libertyville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Libertyville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bearded Collie breeders who help with Bearded Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Libertyville paves the way for another one to be saved.
