Blake's Story...
Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.

My name is Blake and my foster mom tells everyone she meets that I am a super sweet 10 month old male Yorkie-Poo who came to NBS Animal Rescue when my owner abandoned me at a boarding facility and never came back for me. It was a really sad time for me - but luckily the boarding facility contacted the great people at NBS Animal Rescue to give me a second chance at finding my happily ever fur-ever family.

I am a spunky, fun loving, goofy, social, and sweet fella! The doggy doctor gave me clean bill of health and told my foster dad I weighed approximately 8 pounds of fluffy adorableness! I enjoy spending time with my people and friendly furry friends. I love playing with toys, romping in my foster home's fenced yard chasing bugs and leaves, and ridding the world of the dreaded stick that crosses my path. I am learning how to be a potty training champ but I still have a few accidents now and then. Kitty cats are really curious to me, but I learned really quickly that those little furry cats mean business and I respect their wishes when they swat at my playfulness.

I am looking for a home with a family who has a fenced yard, would prefer a home with another friendly and playful dog, and I need a home with children over the age of 8 years.

If you think that your family might be the perfect home for me please visit our website at www.nbsar.org to fill out an online adoption application.

My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?

These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 6 hour periods.
- Children must be 8yrs or older

If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blake, a Troy Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Troy, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Troy paves the way for another one to be saved.
