My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 08/23/08: Hope these new photos of Bentley show how much he has improved. The hair on his face is coming in red and that is why it still looks dark. The hair on his back is coming back in nicely and I think you can see all the random little tufts coming in here, there, and everywhere. :-) My vet says he can be neutered soon, also!!! Thanks again to everyone who wished him well and helped with his many vet bills. He is truly on the road to recovery.
Update 08/08/08: Bentley is much improved and is starting to show his true personality. He is playful, smart and very affectionate. The infection on his face and back are about 75% healed as are his eyes and ears. He no longer has to wear the e-collar and boy is he happy about that. His facial hair is starting to grow back and it's red ! I'm still not sure what will happen with the hair on his back but I hope it will also come in eventually.

He's down to just one hydrotherapy treatment a day and seems pretty happy

about that :-) He has a long road ahead of him but his progress so far is

amazing and is due, in no small part, to the excellent care provided by my Vet and his staff who have taken a very personal interest in his care. Getting proper care is crucial and expensive but he is so worth it and I believe he will come through this and be a wonderful and happy companion. To everyone who has contributed to his care, Bentley and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Without your kind and generous help, we would not be able to help so many our these little ones.

PLEASE HELP US HELP BENTLEY!! THIS POOR LITTLE FELLA IS HAVING LOTS OF MEDICAL PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW. WE ARE SURE HIS CARE WILL BE MORE THAN $1000.00 BEFORE WE CAN GET HIM WELL. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP BENTLEY PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION FOR HIM. THANK YOU!!!

UPDATE: 07-30-08: WE HAVE RECEIVED $685.00 TOWARDS BENTLEY'S SPECIAL CARE NEEDS. THANK YOU!!!

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT WHEN BENTLEY'S PICTURE COMES UP LATER THIS WEEK, IT IS DISTURBING.

Original Bio 07/23/08: This is Bentley, an adorable little one year old male who just needs an enormous amount of TLC and even more medical intervention. He is an owner surrender who just came to us yesterday. He had several medical issues and his owner, a college student, could not afford his care. When pictures become available, you will see that even after a great deal of work, he still looks pretty sad but things are looking up and while it will take a while before he is "presentable", I think his before and after pictures will show a marked improvement. He was brought to me needing a great deal of medical attention and for just a 24 hour period of time, his vet costs are $523.81. He had a fever, massive amounts of sores all over his back and his face, infections in his ears and eyes, a lump in his lymph gland and sadly a heart murmur. He is currently on 5 different medications and my vet says it could be 6-8 weeks before we see a real improvement. The before pictures will be up soon and as I said, they are not a pretty sight so you may want to think about whether or not you want to look at them. He has a great spirit and responds well to being taken care of in spite of the discomfort and pain it must cause him. He so deserves a chance, If you can help in any way with his medical expenses, it will be greatly appreciated
