My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hershey is an 8-1/2 year old, male, miniature dachshund with a smooth red coat and a graying face. He loves curling up on his designated pillow on the couch with a good view of everything. No one is a stranger to this pup, but he is best suited for a home with no small children or big dogs. He's incredibly friendly to adults and loves sniffing your hair. Good thing he is not known to lick your face!

At night, he sleeps in a crate and loves to burrow under blankets. He is temperamental about his blankets, though, so it is wise not to reach for him while he is buried as it will startle him. He is crate-trained, but with female dogs around, he will mark his territory in the house and has been known to have a few accidents. He easily learns commands, but they must be used often or he will forget. And Hershey will do just about anything for a treat, especially Pup-Peroni. He's crazy about walks, but gets so excited, he'll pull on the leash. Because of his size, walks must be kept short because he'll tire quickly. He loves traveling in the car and gets excited about trips (even to the vet). He gets bored with toys, so one or two would be perfect.

Hershey is the perfect dog for a non-active lifestyle. He's absolutely content being a lap-dog and needs a forever home that will provide warm affection on a daily basis. Looking for a companion to lovingly greet you, the moment you walk through the door? Hershey is the dog for you!
