Gumby's Story...
Gumby is a friendly, outgoing and very attractive fuzzball. He was born in the Spring of 2013 and he's as energetic as a kitten and loves to play, practically begging you to engage with him. He likes laser pointers, cat toys, shoe strings, ping pong balls. If it's there, he'll want to play with it. If nothing is going on, he'll lay on his back and throw good-humored swipes your way as you walk past. He loves humans, and will come running to greet you at the door and will follow you around the house. He enjoys being petted and brushed. He would do well with another cat who also likes high speed chases and friendly tussles.

To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and either come to an adoption event or arrange to meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gumby, a Gaithersburg Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Gaithersburg, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Gaithersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gaithersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gaithersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gaithersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
