My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Roxanne! I am an awesome girl who can't wait to meet you and shower you with love!!

I am a young adult at only 3 years old and weigh about 51 lbs. The best word to describe me is Exuberant! I just *love* people and attention. Sometimes I get so excited I forget my manners and want to greet friends by jumping on them--oops! It's hard to remember to be polite when you have so much love to give! My foster mom says we have to keep working on better ways to show my excitement. I'm just such a happy and enthusiastic dog! When I see my leash I start to run in circles! Once on the leash, I express how slowly everyone around me is walking by pulling my foster mom, but I know that with dedicated training(cookies???) I will learn how to stroll nicely.

All that energy centers into zen when we aren't getting ready for a walk or my friends aren't coming in the door. I am house and crate trained, and enjoy quiet time. My idea of paradise is lying on a dog bed or rolling in the grass. I am good with other dogs and cats. Mostly I just want to love and be loved by everyone-human, canine, feline! Also, I have an excellent appetite. I looove my food and peanut butter is a particularly favorite treat.

My dream is to find an owner who is health conscious and will see to it that I receive the health care I need, as my past medical care was not what it should have been. I'm almost fully recovered from heart-worm now(believe me you would never know by looking at me that there is anything wrong with me at all!) so soon can be the energetic dog I long to be, instead of resting comfortably in my crate all day.

A forever home is something I want more than anything. I love my foster parents but I want my very own people to greet every day and eat peanut butter with. My "furever" family will be rewarded with unconditional love and happy wiggles for the rest of my days.

You could not hope to find a more lovable girl than me. Please think about adding me to your family. I can't wait to meet you!

NOTE: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
