Zeke's Story...
ADOPTION FEE: $400 DOB: August 2012 Vaccination Date: March 2013 Health: Excellent Weight: He only weighs 4.9 lbs but he needs to gain some weight. He eats voraciously so I am not worried about that. He is scheduled March 28th for his neuter and microchip. They will also remove his baby teeth. He has some eye stains I couldn't get out. I did not have the blueing shampoo but I think they will go away as his hair grows out. Most people with a Maltese will use Angel Eyes to reduce tear stains. Sometimes a good diet will eliminate staining too. Temperament: He is very shy but is cuddly and follows Sarah everywhere and cries when she leaves. He never bites. He cowers away and shivers if he is scared but he is also a licker… but not in an annoying way. He’s sweet. He is getting braver every day so I have high hopes for him. Sarah took him on a walk last night and after about an hour, he caught on to the leash thing pretty well. He finally started wagging his tail and is getting used to the other dogs too. Neo still scares him because he is so high energy and barks at him. Neo is a very big POM and he can be scary to little bitty dogs. Favorite Activities: He loves to be held for a long time. Guilty Pleasures: Licking your face if you will let him. Crimes: House breaking just started and he has much to learn. Ambitions: To find the perfect furrever home Dogs being adopted will be: Up-to-date on their vaccinations (including rabies if the animal is over 4 months of age), given a Bortatella vaccination, spayed or neutered, dental if needed, fecal tested, heartworm tested (and treated if positive), given a general dewormer, treated for fleas, and given a weeks worth of Nutro Natural Choice small bites dog food. Phone 214-778-7758 IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT, PLEASE EMAIL: RUFFDOGPICTURES@YAHOO.COM or E-MAIL INQUIRES: Please be patient with us! We're taking care of a lot of kids – The foster kids AND our own. Plus, we have families, homes and even full time jobs. We're giving meds to the sick kids, playing with the healthy kids, and loving on all the kids as often as possible. We're doing their laundry, trying to teach them manners and taking them on walks. In other words, we're just a little busy but we'll return email inquiries just as fast as we pawssibly can. ADOPTION DONATIONS: When you see the adoption donation amounts, we'd like you to know that 90% of the time the donation amount DOESN'T EVEN COME CLOSE to covering that kid's dogtor bills. Most of the kids have a minimum $500 vet bill that we pay out of our own pockets. But the impawtant thing is to get these kids the medical care they need and help them find the pawfect family. That's our top pawority. (Sorry, I just can't resist using 'paw' whenever I can!)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zeke, a Dallas Maltese puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Dallas, or seeking a Maltese puppy from a breeder in Dallas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dallas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dallas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dallas paves the way for another one to be saved.
