Gizmo Jack's Story...
DOB: 4/14/12 Vaccination Date: Will be vaccinated at 8 weeks old Health: Excellent Weight: 1.5 lbs Temperament: This kid is so smart! He is very toy & treat driven. He loves the ball and at only 10 weeks old, he learned how to fetch! He will play tug with all toys and can already walk on a leash. He would make an excellent agility dog. He is fearless and jumps up on everything. He crates very well and we are working on his house training. He knows to potty outside when I put him on the grass. He's very good. He hasn't barked so far, but he has made some sad noises when he has to go potty. Favorite Activities: Playing ball and throwing toys around. Guilty Pleasures: chewing on toys and being a puppy. Crimes: My owners bought me for a little girl and when she didn't take care of me, they surrended me to rescue. Ambitions: To find the perfect furrever home Gizmo would make an excellent agility dog. Dog agility is an outlet for your dog's natural, instinctual habits. It's a bunch of obstacles, which your dog is asked to negotiate in a particular order. Think about what you know about your dog's ancestors' behavior. In the wild, dogs are required to chase and kill prey, and to also avoid being the prey. Imagine pursuit of a rabbit, for instance. That rabbit, when chased by a hungry canine, will hurdle rocks, slip under fallen logs, teeter on natural bridges, climb sheer slopes, and squeeze through brambles and thick brush. And if that dog is hungry, he'll be required to do the same. Considering the hardy survival of the canine population in the wild, we can deduct that they've been considerably successful in chasing those quick little guys. Because they're good at it! Here's another thought. Humans are also designed to be agile. Your ancestors sprinted from saber-tooth tigers, traversed rushing rivers, zigzagged through dense forests, and chased food of their own. So, as you may guess that I'm going to suggest...why not join your dog in a rewarding sport that plays into all that's natural and necessary..exercise, entertainment, satisfaction? All wrapped into a fast paced and elegant demonstration of adrenaline-fueled teamwork..in dog agility trials. It's so much fun!!! Dogs being adopted will be: Up-to-date on their vaccinations (including rabies if the animal is over 4 months of age), given a Bortatella vaccination, spayed or neutered, dental if needed, fecal tested, heartworm tested (and treated if positive), given a general dewormer, treated for fleas, and given a weeks worth of Nutro Natural Choice small bites dog food. Phone 214-778-7758 ADOPTION FEE: $300 E-MAIL INQUIRES: Please be patient with us! We're taking care of a lot of kids – The foster kids AND our own. Plus, we have families, homes and even full time jobs. We're giving meds to the sick kids, playing with the healthy kids, and loving on all the kids as often as possible. We're doing their laundry, trying to teach them manners and taking them on walks. In other words, we're just a little busy but we'll return email inquiries just as fast as we pawssibly can. ADOPTION DONATIONS: When you see the adoption donation amounts, we'd like you to know that 90% of the time the donation amount DOESN'T EVEN COME CLOSE to covering that kid's dogtor bills. Most of the kids have a minimum $500 vet bill that we pay out of our own pockets. But the impawtant thing is to get these kids the medical care they need and help them find the pawfect family. That's our top pawority. (Sorry, I just can't resist using 'paw' whenever I can!)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gizmo Jack, a Dallas Jack Russell Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Dallas, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier puppy from a breeder in Dallas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dallas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dallas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dallas paves the way for another one to be saved.
