FOSTER NEEDED June 1-10. Please send us an email directly if you would like to volunteer as a foster for Colt: Thank you!

Colt is an absolutely handsome regal male German Shepherd Dog. He was well loved by his previous owner, but they could no longer afford to care for two large dogs.

Colt was raised with two women in a home surrounded by forest—a gorgeous wooded paradise! He loves walks in the mountains. But Colt will also adjust well to city life!

Colt is very responsive and loves treats. He also loves to bury his head in your lap for love.

Colt was left loose indoors in his home, but he is crate-trained and now in foster care.

Colt was raised with a female Australian Shepherd. He has never lived with cats or children, so a single or adult couple would be ideal.

The adoption process includes completion of an adoption application, a vet check, a home visit and a lifetime adoption contract.

Adoptions are not done on a first come first serve basis. WA German Shepherd Rescue is the companion animal's advocate and will select the most suitably matched home for the dog's general needs and the unique needs of each individual dog in our care. We reserve the right to refuse service and adoption without explanation.

About Washington German Shepherd Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We hope to ease the problem of population overflow occurring in many of our shelters today. WGSR educates the individual on the importance of sterilizing the pet and providing superior care.

WGSR is composed of a network of foster families and volunteers. We are always in need of more foster care providers with the time and commitment necessary to care for these animals in transition. We are also in need of volunteers who can shuttle dogs from shelters and other sites to our foster homes.
