My story

Fostered in Post Falls, ID

Hi there! My name is Miss Diva. I am 4 years old. I came to Power of the Paw because my old owner had a change in living situations. I came to Power of the Paw with a skin condition too. I just need grain free food and a clean environment and everything will clear right up. My foster mom says I should tell you about my experience so far in foster care with her, so here it goes!

I am getting used to having room to stretch out on the floor. My foster mom says that I need to stay in my kennel at night and when she is gone for my piece of mind and safety. It's ok because I don't mind at all. My foster brother Nitro/Harley has a kennel next to mine. We get loves and treats when ever we go to our beds. I have two other foster sisters who are helping me with the transition as well. Sometimes my personal space bubble is a little tight but my foster mom rubs my head and tells me things will be ok. I really enjoy being next to my humans. I stay by their side quite often, mostly for some reassurance.

I'm not having any issues with food guarding, and I understand that their will always be food and I don't have to worry about other dogs taking it from me. I do love to watch my foster family eat but I try not to sniff too close. Foster mom says it's not nice to beg, and I understand that. I get some coconut oil on my food as a treat once a day because it's really helping my skin problems. Luckily, coconut oil isn't expensive and I think it's delicious. Anything that helps me get better, is okay with me.

There's a door just for us. I think they call it a doggie door. I've mastered it and I can come and go outside any time I want. My foster human brother is 5 and full of energy. I like him too. If I get overwhelmed, I just move into a quiet area so that I can rest peacefully and then I'm ready to take on more energy. My foster mom makes sure that my foster brother is respectful of my space and so I'll never be put into a bad situation. I know that she'll protect me.

Ope! I forgot to tell you about my nose. I'm told it's a scalloped edged heart. My foster mom and aunt say I wear my heart for all to see. You'll be able to feel how soft I am, because I love being pet. My eyes are very deep. You might even see me bat my eyes at new people to get them to come give me attention. The visitors who come to my house, I greet them with a smile. My foster mom says I'm a good girl and that I'll have a great new family soon!

If you are ready to make me your Diva, go to httpa//powerofthepaw.org/…/powerof…/adopt/dog-adoption-application/ and fill out an adoption application. It's time for me to complete your family!
