Owen's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and not good with cats.

Owen's Story...
Owen is a beautiful 5 year old red and white basset boy. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. He was given up due to a divorce.
Owen requires a experienced dog person and he cannot go to a family with children. Although he is much improved, he has done some resource guarding in the past.
He loves to run and play with other dogs. He loves people and wants to be everyone's best friend. He is fine in the car, even on long car rides. He loves his toys and wants to just carry them around in his mouth, especially his stuffed Koala bear as well as his farmer!
Owen is in a foster home in New England.

Please email QueenB534@aol.com for more information. Experienced dog people only.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Owen, a Boston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Boston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Boston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boston paves the way for another one to be saved.
