Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Becky's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Becky's Story...
Don't adopt her because she's beautiful, adopt her because she's got a beautiful soul! Yes, you get both in the same package if you adopt this beauty. We THINK we have her mix down pat, but without a DNA test (which we don't do) it's always a guess. What we DO know is that Becky is a love bug who is quiet and gentle and once she learns you trustworthy she will give you her heart and soul.

Somewhere between one and two years old, Becky came to us from a shelter so she could keep her son company while he recovered from a broken bone. She's done an amazing job of helping him heal properly and now she's all ready to find a home where she can be doted on.

Becky does great on lead, sleeps in a crate through the night, and even travels wonderfully. She likes other dogs but hasn't spent a whole lot of time with any other than her pup while in her foster home. Cats are not an issue with her.

If you are interested in adopting her please read on to find out how to get started.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - and is found under Resources. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Becky, a Oakley Australian Shepherd/English Springer Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/English Springer Spaniel for sale in Oakley, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/English Springer Spaniel dog from a breeder in Oakley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/English Springer Spaniel breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/English Springer Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakley paves the way for another one to be saved.
