Max's Story...
Max here! So pleased to meet you! I am a sweet and gentle guy who is here with my sister Zoey and, we have so much love to give! I am the more skeptical out the two of us and take more time to trust. I like to explore and investigate all the wonderful things life has to offer. I am what you call a Potcake (that is the name for stray dogs on the Turks and Caicos where I am from) and the folks here are guessing I have some shepherd or retriever in my mix and that I will be medium to large size as an adult. I still have plenty of learning to do, so I am looking for a family that does mind helping me learn my doggie manors. I am looking for a family with children in there teens due my more shyer nature. If I sound like I might be the match for you then stop by and visit with me today!

Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! www.capeannanimalaid.org 978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Gloucester Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
