My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gordy is a 2 year old male Black Labrador Retriever that is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heart worm negative. Gordy is a sweet boy that is fun loving and will make a great addition to just the right home. Gordy is shy when he first meets people and is looking for a family that can go slow with him. It only takes him a bit of time and then he is your best friend and you can do anything with him.

According to his previous owner, Gordy can be dog selective and doesn't get along with some male dogs. He has been loose with up to 15 adult dogs, male and female, in his foster home and we have not seen any problems with him when he is. With that being said, he does growl at some of them when he is in his crate. We would like him to go into a home by himself or with a female large breed dog as a companion.

Gordy has been great with the kids in the home but because he is shy initially, we are looking for a home with no kids. Once again, once he meets you and knows that you are nice, he is loving and gentle, but he is sometimes uncomfortable with new people. A good way to break the ice with him is to play fetch. He loooooves tennis balls and he gets really excited when we get out the chuck it.

Gordy was just recently neutered and was a marker when outside to begin with. We would say that he is "house broken with guidance". He now is given doggy door access to the foster home and has made good choices despite multiple male dogs that are also in the house. He uses the doggy door to go outside to potty.. Gordy is crate trained and goes in his crate easily with a cookie. He knows how to sit and comes when called.

If you are interested in meeting Gordy please send us an email. His adoption fee is $250 plus $10.99 microchip registration fee.
