Amelia's Story...
ABOUT AMELIA - TAKE MY LEAD DOG
Amelia a participant in Handsome Dan's Rescue's Take My Lead program which provides FREE private training and behavior modification once she is adopted. For now, Amelia is working hard on her training and behavior with some of the best certified trainers in New England!

Amelia is a fun-loving and very sweet young dog who has maintained her amazing temperament for over a year in a shelter environment. This is a testament to what a special dog she is.

Amelia can be protective of her toys in some settings, which is a form of Resource Guarding. For this reason, we believe she will be most successful starting right off the bat with support from a trainer experienced with improvement and management of this issue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amelia, a Cranston American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Cranston, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Cranston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cranston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cranston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cranston paves the way for another one to be saved.
