My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Anton is a super sweet, happy, cuddly dog who bonds quickly and is eager to please. He is a true German shepherd and will require an owner experienced with the breed who can provide clear and consistent leadership. He's a great watch dog with a powerful bark and has excellent house manners. He has learned very quickly to wait at the door and not rush out until he is invited to do so. He is also learning how to walk nicely on a leash (loose leash walking) and heeling. Anton is a very nimble and athletic dog who would benefit from having some kind of job. He is not by nature a couch potato although he does ok left in the house by himself. He would excel at agility, be a great running or walking partner, probably excel at nose work, and would be an excellent companion for a single person or couple without young children. He is good with other dogs but will require a careful introduction. He is an alpha male so this should definitely be a consideration in placing him with other pets in the household.

Anton does have some food allergies and needs to eat special kibble and treats from a veterinarian or he gets extremely itchy and his skin breaks down. He also takes a prescription allergy drug and over the counter benedryl to help control the itching. Once placed, he would benefit from a thorough allergy evaluation. He is wary around teenagers but I think would be fine with careful introductions and a dog savvy teenager.
