Life can be so unpredictable and at times just down right precarious. For a pup, starting life out on the streets and then ending up in a high kill southern shelter, usually does not have a happy ending. Fortunately, our tender hearted pup Butler, was pulled into rescue and will never again suffer the pain of being unwanted and unloved from his past life. Butler is a 10 month old black lab mix who currently weighs 50 lbs. He probably has a little more growing ( maybe 10 lbs?)to do as foster mom says he hasn't quite yet grown into his paws. Butler has thrived and excelled in his foster home. He is sweet, goofy, smart, and fun all rolled into one awesome boy. He is already both house and crate trained and walks great on leash. Our handsome guy is full of life and love. He is very playful and gets along wonderfully with big people, little people, other dogs, and yes he thinks kitties are just fine. He is a little clumsy at times as he grows into his big boy body. Sometimes he trips over his own feet (don't we all once in awhile?) but he's up and going again without missing a beat. Butler is already neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and current on preventatives. He is excitedly waiting for his forever home and family...the best thing to happen to him yet. Oh and of course always take good care of him!

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
VETTING NOTE: Double Dog Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward.
