This beautiful white and silver Lionhead rabbit was rescued from Calcasieu Parish Animal Control in Lake Charles, Louisiana. We had her examined and spayed by our exotic vet. She also got a nail trim, they cut out a few knots in her long fur, and she got an ear tattoo that says AHS (tattoo signifies he was neutered by our rescue’s vet). Rabbits are not recommended for very small & young children. Rabbits are a ten year commitment, and should be researched before choosing to adopt one. Lionhead rabbits have longer hair that sometimes requires gentle brushing, or a trip to the exotic vet for a hair trim. Rabbits have very tender skin that can tear easily, so only use a soft rabbit brush on her.
FOOD: Rabbit Pellets, Timothy Hay, and fresh green leafy vegetables such as kale, romaine or butter lettuce, arugula, parsley, etc. Fresh fruits and berries make a great occasional treat.
We recommend an indoor home for rabbits. NO wire bottom cages as they cause foot injury which requires a veterinarian's care. Plastic solid bottom cages only.
Our rabbit adoption fee is $50.00. We accept cash, or a check made out to Acadiana Humane Society. If it doesn’t work out, we ask that you please return rabbit to Acadiana Humane Society. Thank you!
