Loving, spunky Karlee is seven months old, and 43 lbs. of adorable goofball. She is happy and energetic in the morning, and when in the mood, runs in big, fast circles to celebrate her day. Karlee does well relaxing during the day and being calm during her down-time. Once the afternoon/evening comes she is ready for more fun!

Karlee is cautious when meeting new dogs on leash, but well-behaved with dogs given the proper introductions. She currently lives in a home with two large male dogs and used to live with a foster cat. This darling Pit Bull pup is quickly learning good manners in her foster home, but she had not been exposed to the outside world before she came to us. So she can be shy at first, but bonds quickly with people. Karlee enjoys learning new skills and responds favorably to correction. She still sometimes backs away from people when they first meet her, but she knows that people can be quite wonderful as well. She lived in a home with small children before and did great with them.

Karlee has the start of great leash walking skills; with continued guidance she will be a great walking companion (when we walk and it is just her and I, she is right next to me, no pulling on a regular collar. When I walk her with my other dogs she does pull slightly but not a lot). Karlee is crate-trained and sleeps quietly in her crate each night. She is also potty-trained and no longer has accidents; however, potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment. Karlee very much enjoys an array of toys, and loves rawhides too!

The home we seek for Karlee is one where she would have another dog in the home to be her friend and playmate, but more importantly a dog that she can model herself after for leadership and her own personal growth. Ideally, this dog would be a male dog, big or small. Her adopter(s) will expose her to new experiences gradually to build up her confidence in a variety of social settings. With few exceptions, we generally feel that the majority of pit bulls thrive in smaller play packs (even if it is just one other dog) where proper dog/dog introductions are made, and not the vast reactionary dynamic of a larger scale dog park or dog beach setting. For example, Karlee spends a good deal of time at a home environment that does dog boarding, so Karlee plays and socializes with a well-socialized and properly supervised pack. Karlee seems to thrive in the structure of this setting. She is sometimes annoying to other dogs, with her constant invitations to play, but is never aggressive with the other dogs, nor possessive, or jealous. She is just plain old HAPPY! She loves all dogs, big and small. When she eventually realizes that no other dog is willing to play with her, she can find a bunch of different toys and can definitely entertain herself.

As a puppy, Karlee has the opportunity to grow into a good representation of her breed, with the right guardian(s). More important than fun and games, we hope to find someone with at least some knowledge of the breed who can help Karlee mature into a model citizen while at the same time enjoy a loving and devoted companion.

Karlee is up-to-date on her shots, and has been spayed and micro-chipped. We cannot wait to see who is going to bring this little gem home with them! If you are interested in Karlee, please contact Stacy by emailing luvmypitbulls@gmail.com or calling 626-806-8963.
