Meet Benji!
Hi, I'm Benji! I'm about 10 months old and in love with life! When Canine Cupids found me, I had a great head of shaggy hair, but sadly also a bunch of knots. So now I'm rocking a short hair-do, which also is keeping me cool in this warm weather!

I love spending time with my foster momma and cry when she leaves me. I'm so full of energy and could play non-stop if she let me. However, if she's busy with other things I'll loyally follow her around and lay nearby waiting until she puts down her boring stuff and has time to play with me.

I love going on walks -- my favorite part is getting to say hi to new people and dogs. If I don't see anyone on my walks, or if they don't say hi, I get real sad and let my foster momma know.

I live with a cat. All I want to do is play with my foster-sibling, but he's scared of me, which breaks my heart! I'd love a house where I could have brothers/sisters (either human or furry-friends) to play with! However, since I'm still a puppy, sometimes I don't realize others don't like me jumping on them. I also like car rides, but I'm learning that I can't sit on my foster momma's shoulders while she drives. (which is the best place to see from, duh!)

I've been a little picky with my food, and prefer to sneak some of my cat's food when my foster momma isn't looking. (Shh. Don't tell her...) but if nothing else is there I'll eat a little of my plain dry food.

I'm starting to learn tricks, and already do pretty well with the words "no" and "good boy. I'm still learning to go potty outside, do sometimes I have accidents, but my foster momma says I'm doing really well! With a little patience and consistency, I'll pick things up really quickly!

Benji’s adoption fee is $300 and he is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
